I have 6 discus fish and 2 of them spawn. It is unfortunate
that each time laying eggs, the eggs were eaten male parent. When males were separated,
edible egg female parent. Once the male returned to the aquarium, discus fish
would not spawn again. The question is:
- How do I order a couple discus fish that would spawn again?
- How to care for the eggs that hatch?
- Feed what is given before and after the spawn?
The answer is:
- If the parent’s spouse does not want to spawn the steps taken to restore the second parent is in a large aquarium with 4 other male discus fish. In this way the female is expected to select a suitable partner back.
- Order eggs being eaten by its parent, try to check the water quality. Discus fish need a certain water quality so it would spawn. In its natural habitat in the Amazon River, South America, the quality of the water slightly acid, pH of about 6.0 to 6.2 with soft hardness level below 1. Nesting String together a pot placed upside down or pieces of PVC pipe placed vertically. The eggs usually hatch after 2 days and the larvae begin to swim freely at the age of 3 days. Larvae that can swim will stick in the parent body for consuming mucus secretion results from the parent.
- Fish like Discus live feed. Live food such as bloodworm, mosquito larvae, water fleas, and silk worms contain many enzymes that Discus fish need for spawning.
